Where this applies

The notice covers two properties. The first is the Android build of HD Video Downloader Pro, which we distribute through Google Play and nowhere else. The second is this website, the set of pages you are reading now.

Companies outside that pair answer for themselves. Google operates the store that delivers the install and every update, under Google's own terms and privacy policy. Websites opened from inside the app, and any external destination linked from these pages, are run by their owners and governed by whatever policies those owners publish. Once a request leaves for one of those services, the receiving party's rules apply in place of ours.

Data we receive

None. The Data safety entry filed with the Video Players & Editors listing for this package records three points:

• no user data is collected;
• no user data is shared with third parties;
• data is encrypted while it travels.

There is no registration step, no sign-in, no profile and no publisher server that takes delivery of your files, your pasted links or a record of what you have played. Nothing arrives here, so there is no library of user information for us to trade, misplace or be compelled to disclose.

That filing is the binding description of the app's data behaviour, and this page has been written to sit squarely inside it. The current wording is always visible in the Data safety section of the Google Play listing.

Kept on your handset

The app is designed to work against local storage. Videos, reels and status media you choose to save, the list of finished and queued downloads, the quality you last selected, playback position and the app's own settings are written to the phone or tablet in front of you.

That material never leaves the device on our account. Remove a single file from the download manager or from any file manager, clear the app's storage from Android's app info screen, or uninstall the app and take the settings with it. We hold no copy, cannot inspect what is there, and cannot restore anything once you have removed it.

Permissions requested

The app asks for the narrow set its two jobs require, and explains each request at the moment it is made.

Storage

Needed to write a finished download into device storage, and to read saved media back so the built-in player and the download list can show it. Decline it and files cannot be saved.

Network

Needed to load pages in the in-app browser, to detect what a supported page offers, and to fetch the file after you pick a quality and tap Download. Without a connection the browser, the detector and the download engine all stop.

The exact permission set for the build you have installed is listed on the Play listing and under Android's app settings, where each one can be reviewed and taken back. Withdrawing a permission disables the feature that depends on it and nothing else.

Advertising

HD Video Downloader Pro installs free of charge and carries advertising, exactly as its store listing states. That advertising is what pays for development and support.

The advertisements themselves are delivered by third-party advertising partners, not by us. To choose an advertisement, cap how often it appears and measure whether it was seen, such a partner may process device signals and advertising identifiers under its own privacy policy. That processing is the partner's, carried out on the partner's systems. It produces nothing for CAPTAINS COLLECTION and leaves our position unchanged: we still hold no user data.

Android puts the relevant switches in your hands. Open the Settings app and look under the Google or Privacy heading, depending on the manufacturer and the Android version, where you can reset the advertising identifier, delete it outright, and switch off personalised advertising. Advertisements can still appear afterwards; they are simply chosen with less information about you.

We deliberately name no network on this page, because a naming here could fall out of date while the authoritative statement stayed current. Consult the Data safety section of the app's Play listing for the declaration in force.

Sites in the browser

A browser is built into the app so you can reach a supported source page without switching to another application. Every page you open that way belongs to a third party. Each one decides for itself what it records, which cookies it writes and what its privacy policy promises, in the same way it would if you had opened it in Chrome.

Read a site's own policy before you sign in to it or hand it anything personal. Addresses you visit and terms you search for stay between you and that site; no log of them is sent to us.

Younger users

The app holds a Google Play content rating of Everyone. It is a general-purpose downloader and media player, aimed at people who manage their own device, and it is neither directed at children under 13 nor styled to attract them.

We do not knowingly gather personal information from a child. Since the app gathers no user data at all, no child's data is held in connection with it either. If you believe a child has sent personal details to our support address, write to contact@captainscollection.shop and the message will be deleted.

This website

captainscollection.shop is a set of static pages. It writes no cookies of its own, loads no analytics or tracking script, and offers no form, account or login, so there is nothing here for you to submit and nothing for us to file away.

Like every site, it is delivered by a hosting provider, and providers keep ordinary server logs — commonly the requesting address, the moment of the request, the page asked for and the browser's user-agent line. Those records exist so the site can be served, kept online and defended against abuse. We do not mine them to build a picture of any visitor.

Controls you hold

Because the material sits on your device rather than with us, most of the levers are yours:

• delete saved videos one at a time, or clear the app's storage in a single step;
• revoke any permission from Android's app settings;
• reset or erase the advertising identifier and turn off personalised advertising in Android Settings;
• uninstall the app, which takes its settings off the device with it.

Data protection law where you live may also give you rights, such as asking what personal data a business holds about you, having it corrected, or having it erased. For the app there is usually nothing to produce, since nothing is collected. Where you have written or telephoned, that correspondence does exist, and you may ask for a copy of it or for its deletion.

Safeguards

The Data safety filing records that data is encrypted in transit, and this website is served over HTTPS. Support messages sit in ordinary business email, reachable only through the accounts permitted to open it.

No transfer or storage method is perfectly secure, and we will not claim one. What we can point to is how little there is to attack: no user account, no customer database and no publisher-held collection of anyone's saved videos.

Revisions

When this notice is amended, the new text replaces the old on this page and the “Last updated” date at the top moves with it. There is no mailing list behind it, which makes that date the honest thing to check.

Should an amendment ever alter what the app itself does with information, the Google Play Data safety filing will be revised in the same pass, so that the two statements cannot drift apart.

This address is the one published as the application's privacy policy, and the page stays available at /privacy-policy for as long as the app is listed.
